If you are unable to run an Ethernet cable to connect the main mesh unit, then a mesh system may not be ideal, as the primary mesh unit must be connected via Ethernet.

We recommend using a dual‑pack mesh system. In this setup, the main mesh unit should be connected to the SBG8300, and the second unit can be configured as a wireless satellite that you can place in another area. Please note that both the SBG8300 and the mesh units function as routers. Because of this, you must either:

  • Put the SBG8300 into bridge mode, which disables its router functionality so you can rely entirely on the mesh system, or
  • Configure the mesh units in extender (bridge) mode, which disables their router functionality so they operate solely as extenders.
