I cannot seem to get the 2.4 ghz networks to appear regularly appear on any device.  They have briefly appeared over the past month and then dissapear withing minutes.  I have tried factory resent, enabling and disabling the networks, and changing the 2.4 ghz channel without success.  What else can I do?

Hello Newtointernet,

If you have not  customized Wi-FI name and password follow the below link to customize it :

http://arris.force.com/consumers/articles/General_FAQs/SBG8300-Changing-the-Wi-Fi-Name-and-Password

After customizing try connecting 2.4GHz also check if the security mode is in WPA2-PSK(AES) (Recommended)

Also make sure , you change the Wi-Fi channel for 2.4GHz by following the below link :

I have done each of these and there is still no 2.4 ghz network available for any of my devices.  I have also tried to restart the sbg8300 and done a factory reset.  Are there any other measures I can take?

Hello Newtointernet,

As you had mentioned that you are unable to see the 2.4GHz , Do a Reset by following the below link:

http://arris.force.com/consumers/articles/General_FAQs/SBG8300-Factory-Reset

After you had done Reset , just let us know if you are able to see 2 WiFi default network   names : 2.4GHz and 5GHz

After a reset my devices see 2 Wifi networks but they are the SBG8300-XXXX-5G and SBG8300Guest-XXXX-5G networks.  When I go to http://192.168.0.1 after the reset I am able to customize the name and password for both the 2.4 ghz and 5 ghz networks but my devices only see the 5ghz network.

Check the Summary page to confirm the 2.4GHz networks are active .

Try changing Security Mode to “WPAWPA2-PSK (TKIP/AES)”, Broadcast Network Name is enabled, and set Channel Bandwidth to 20/40.

As last resort, set Security Mode to open for testing to see if your clients can see the SSID.

There could be failure to 2.4GHz Wi-Fi since both the primary and guest 2.4 are not broadcasting after factory reset.

I tried each of these steps including open security mode and cannot see the SSID.  At times over the past month I have seen the 2.4 ghz networks but that never lasts for more than a few minutes.

Hello Newtointernet ,

Its well understood that after doing a Reset / checking on enabled or disabled of the Network Name / changing WiFi channels / assigning security mode on web manager page (192.168.0.1)   you are still unable to see 2.4 GHz (primary and guest) network names.

Could you help  us  to know all the WiFi channels that had been assigned to?

Also, the name of devices (if manufacture name /model number )that you are trying to connect to 2.4GHz network .

I have tried channels 1-6 and 11 without any luck.

I shut off the 5ghz radio on the web manager page and the WIFI light on the device indicates there is no WIFI which I take to mean that it is not transmitting in 2.4 ghz at all. The 2.4 ghz radio is enabled and the 2.4 ghz networks are both enabled.

Is it possible this device is just a lemon?

I have several devices including:

Sensi Touch Thermostat (model number WG4)

Hatch Restore Alarm Clock (model number ‎HBR4100)

LG Washer (model number WM4000HBA)

LG Dryer (model number DLGX4001B)

Thanks
