I currently have an Arris cable TV set-top box (HMC-4000) from my cable TV provider, which allows me to watch TV programs on the same WiFi network without competing for the TV with my family. This is a great feature. However, due to WiFi security concerns, I need to separate the WiFi network from the local area network. Could you please advise me on how to use an app to specify the IP address of the set-top box, instead of relying on the app to search for the set-top box within the same local area network? Your assistance in resolving this issue would be greatly appreciated.

If your setup box is connected to modem Wi-Fi network then yes you can reserve IP for your device on the modem GUI page.
Could you please help us with the Arris modem model number to assist you on this case further.
