The model number on my ARRIS modem reads “TG2482A.” Is this the same as SVG2482AC?

Can model svg2482ac be reconfigured for WPA2 AES, or is this a hardware change?

Yes, TG2482A is similar to SVG2482AC. But TG2482A is not supported by Arris. Arris supports only the retail products that are available on surfboard.com but not the ISP lease products.
