I have routinely shared files + directories from my DELL Desktop to my LENOVO laptop. Yes: I know how to configure Win11 to share files with full permissions. My former NETGEAR WiFi-Router made this easy across my home WiFi, same channel, but the Netgear broke.  I replaced it with an Arris SVG2482AC I configured for ‘medium security’.  Now I have no functional home network.

My Desktop + Laptop cannot see each other on my WiFi network.

Please help me share files across my WiFi home network between my desktop & my laptop.  Thank you.

the svg2482ac’s usb port is power only.

When you’re sharing, make sure you enable a private network on windows

Thank you, I think I got it.
TO HOME NETWORK SHARE FILES INSIDE YOUR OWN HOME WIFI ACROSS YOUR OWN PCS:

IF YOU ARE on your own home WiFi &
IF YOU want to share your files among your PCs (ie Desktop and laptop etc.)
On BOTH YOUR PCs (ie: your desktop, your laptop, to share your stuff)

First off, you must tell Windows 11 you want to SHARE A DRIVE
To share a drive in Windows 11, you can:
Right-click the drive you want to share
  Select Properties
    Go to the Sharing tab
    Click Advanced Sharing
Check the box that says Share this folder
Click Permissions (you get full permissions for your own stuff)
      Select 'Everyone'
Click on full control (read, write, delete) permissions
Click Apply and OK to save the changes
THEN WIFI SETTINGS ON BOTH DEVICES
Make sure both PCs are using the SAME Wifi (such as 2.4ghz or 5ghz)
To change a Wi-Fi network to public or private
    Select Start,
    then type settings.
    Select Settings >
    Network & internet > Wi-Fi.
    On the Wi-Fi settings screen,
    select Manage known networks, and
select the network you're connected to.
    On the Wi-Fi network screen,
to share your own files among your own PCs in a private network,
    select Private
Open CONTROL PANEL
Click on Network and Sharing Center
Click on Change Advance Sharing settings.
    Click these to ON POSITION
      * Set up network connected devices automatically
      * file and printer sharing
    pull down All Networks
      * Turn OFF Password protected sharing
Now you can COPY/PASTE files or directories between your devices.
Personally,
I like to do my 'best/most current' work on my desktop
I like to clone selected desktop directories to my laptop
I personally like the SYNCBACK App to MIRROR Desk->Laptop
  SyncBack

Whew!

Microsoft makes this so techie hard for regular people.

AND
I should have reminded everyone when you are finished sharing
data across your computers, be sure to UN-SHARE THE FILES/DRIVE.

(On both computers you had home networked)
Click on
    This PC, then
The drive or directory you had 'shared', then
Give Access to (the drive or directory you shared)
    Advanced sharing
Unclick (white box) 'share this folder'.
    Apply & close.
You do want your data protected, not exposed to unknown persons.
Stay safe!
