I purchased a T25 modem to replace the Xfinity Xfi.

I have internet connection from T25 lan port to a pc, but not when T25 is connected to my router.

I reconnected the Xfi. Every thing works!!!

What am I doing incorrectly for the T25 not to connect thru router?  I had a Xfinity tech out today helping. He don’t know either.

The T25 has 2x ethernet ports. But xfinity only supports 1 device connected to the modem.

so do this.

Power off the modem and the router. Leave them off at least 2 minutes and disconnect the coax from the modem. (disconnect ethernet cables from router too).

Then connect the coax back to the modem and power it on. wait 2 minutes.

Then connect port 1 on the modem to the wan port on the router.

Power the router on.

wait 2 minutes.

Attempt setup on the router.

Again, don’t connect anything else to the modem. Xfinity only provides 1 public ip address and if thats assigned to the other device, the router won’t work.
