wifi speed T25

I own Surfboard T-25 Modem. I am paying for 1000 MBPS thru my ISP. The best speed I have been able to get thru speed tests is 400-450 MBPS. ISP said everything checks out on their end.

When I connect laptop to Ethernet port on Modem I receive Unidentified Network Connection so I am not able to test the speed there.

A couple things. 

  1. The T-25 is a modem only device. It has zero router capabiilty or wireless. If you’re hardwiring a pc into it, make sure to have powered off the t25 for a couple minutes and the pc. Then power on the t25 with nothing connected to it and give it a couple minutes to boot. Then connect the pc directly to it with nothing else connected and power on the pc. Give it a couple minutes to fully boot. Then try using the internet. 
  2. What router do you have? 
  3. What wireless device are you testing on?
  4. Most devices/routers aren’t going to max out a gigabit connection over wireless. Wired yes. Wireless no. 
Current setup: Netgear CM3000-->Netgear RBE973S-->2.5gig tp-link switch, Xfinity 2.4gig/350mbps
