I recently started using this device on 03/23/25.  I have Spectrum Internet on the 1GB plan.  This Modem/Router keeps dropping the WiFi Networks constantly for no reason.  I replaced my Netgear Modem/Router for this device and feel I have made a  mistake.  I was looking to see if there was a firmware update but everywhere I look, it states that my ISP does the firmware update.  I call Spectrum and they state that they would not do the Firmware update as the device is owned by and I would have to update the Firwmare.  With that being said, there is no option in the GUI to update the Firmware or anywhere on the Internet to find the any Firmwares for this device.  Please help.

Even though the modem is owned by you the internet service providers, they can update the firmware because your model G54 is a combination of a cable modem and router (gateway).

DOCSIS standards dictate that the service provider must distribute firmware updates to cable modem devices.  The end-user cannot simply install an update like most other network-enabled devices.

ARRIS develops the software update and makes it available to service providers.  The service providers qualify, test, and distribute the software update to devices on their network.  ARRIS has limited control or visibility on distribution by the service providers.

Could you please confirm that the internet connection is dropped only  in the hardwired connection or also on the hardwired connection?

Each gateway and router has its own unique configuration.

If the internet is dropping only with the Wi-Fi connection, ensure the gateway is placed in an open area to reduce Wi-Fi congestion. Major reasons for internet drops could include Wi-Fi interference from devices like microwaves, cordless phones, and baby monitors.
