G36: MOCA not working after replacing cable modem

Forum|alt.badge.img

Hello,

I have 2 MOCA 2.5 Motorola adapters installed for years and my cable modem was a Motorola MT8733. One MOCA adapter is connected to my modem in the living room, and the other is in my office upstairs and everything worked fine.

My 8733 started having problems that requested me to reset it every other week and today I replaced it with a Arris G36. Wifi is working fine, but the Ethernet adapter in my laptop (connected to a MOCA upstairs using a network cable) has no connection - connection was great when I had the MT8733.

I reviewed pretty much all config pages in the G36 and couldn't find something that needs to be configured to make the MOCA connection work.

Thoughts? Is there a configuration I would need to change? Should I use a PoE filter?

PS: the LEDs on both MOCA adapters behave the same as before, so it's not a link/LAN connection issue.

Since you are trying to connect the MOCA adapter to the G36, it is not compatible with the MOCA adapter.

The G36 doesn’t have any moca capability. So its just between your 2 adapters. You’d want to contact support for the MOCA adapters with motorola if thats who you have them through. Might need a filter. Might need replacement. Tough to know
