Invalid Login Credential

Forum|alt.badge.img

Surfboard combination modem-router model G34, Windows 10.

I go to 192.168.0.1 to bring up the page.  The message “Your Firefox is not up to date.  You must use 63.0.3.”   My Firefox is much newer than that:   138.0.4, 64 bit.

I try both “admin” as well as the name of my local network.  Neither user name works.

I use for a password the Wi-Fi Security Key found on the bottom of my Surfboard.

Either way, it says “Invalid Login Credential.”  What’s really idiotic, is that it will not give me a hint how to fix the problem.   I think Surfboard help stinks.

G34, during the initial setup, you’ll be prompted to create a password for accessing the web interface. If you’ve set up the Surfboard Central app, it will generate the password automatically for you

To retrieve the password for the web interface through the Surfboard Central app, please can refer to the following link.

If you’ve been using the web interface to configure your Surfboard gateway and happen to forget the password, I would recommend performing a factory reset on the device. This will restore the gateway to its default settings, allowing you to set a new password for the web interface.

Another thing is that there is no way to view the password to ensure it is correct.  And although my IT tech said the user name is case sensitive, the Surfboard website alters the case of the user name.
