I bought a Netgear mesh Wi-Fi extender and the router keeps disconnecting every couple of days. I’ve called and spoken to the extender customer support and they have helped me set it up twice. Within a couple of days it disconnects again. I’m now looking to see if something needs changed with the router? Or do I just need to buy a newer router?

Are you setting up the extender using wps? If so, factory reset it and use its installation assistant and not wps.
