I have a G36 on one floor and have a CAT 5 that runs from that location to the second floor. I am trying to figure out how to have one SSID network that covers house and right now the G36 isnt doing it. I envisioned if I could have a wifi router hardwired to the G36 and then have another something on the second floor that is connected by the CAT 5 in the wall to either the G36 or the first floor wifi router? Any help would be appreciated what i should buy or do.

For poor Wi-Fi coverage, several factors like interferences from microwaves, concrete walls, etc., can play a role.
The G36 can cover up to 2,500 sq ft, depending on these interferences.

Who’s your ISP?
Reason I ask is the G36 has a decent modem in it. You could add a mesh system to it and either just use the G36 as an extra access point (not on same ssid) or disable its router features and just use it as a modem.
I’d take a look at Dong Knows website. He reviews a lot of networking/mesh systems and does a great job of it. He also pays for it himself to ensure he’s a neutral poster (for the most part) I’d post a link but they tend to get moderated. He’s got a few charts with mesh systems rated.

What are the interior walls made of?
A hardwired backhaul between mesh systems usually makes them rock but not all support wired backhaul.
