DNS Relay causes incorrect port forwarding

I have a web server on my local windows system. I access it using a special port number.

This port number is forwarded within the G54 to the standard 443 port.

The web site can be successfully browsed from any system, however not from the web server system itself.

I believe this is caused by the DNS Relay feature built into the G54, which seems to shortcut the port forwarding mechanism.

Unfortunately, the DNS Relay feature does not seem to be able to be disabled, so I can’t verify this...

By default, port 443 is already enabled, so there’s no need to manually open it through port forwarding.

I don’t follow your point.

Port Forwarding exists to translate an incoming port number into a different port number for the server to handle. There is no “opening” a port involved.

My problem is that the DNS Relay feature seems to bypass this port translation, but only for the local IP address, which leaves the server dealing with the wrong port number.

The router seems to be treating the outgoing request from the web server as a loopback, when it is serving its own web site, but doesn’t handle the port forwarding requirement.
