Question

Arris SB8200 vs. Arris S34. Same chipset (BCM3390), but only one is supported for Next Gen Upload speeds. Why??

Forum|alt.badge.img

Recently found out that Arris S34 is getting released and it will be supported for the Next Gen Upload Speeds (100 MBps/ 200 MBps). Source.

Arris S34 is now listed on Amazon for pre-order.

But, both Arris S34 and Arris SB8200 use the same chipset BCM3390 (source: the listing page on Amazon for each modem). Can anyone explain why one is supported and the other isn't? Technically, the firmware shouldn't be an issue at this pt. I am genuinely curious.
