Guest Network Secure on G34 Modem/Router?

Hello,

 

I have enabled guest wifi network on my G34 Arris modem/router (2in1) . I read in documentation for this modem that its is seprate from my main network. However I don’t see any information other then enabling and disabling the guest network.

 

Is the guest network is really separate from my main network? Is it secure , lets assume I will have stranger connecting to this guest network.

You can click on edit and change the ssid/password for the guest network. 

I’m not a security expert but a guest network is supposed to isolate that traffic from your main network for increased security. 

Current setup: Netgear CM3000-->Netgear RBE973S-->2.5gig tp-link switch, Xfinity 2.4gig/350mbps
