S33 won't connect and makes high pitched whining

Was working for a few weeks, then started to have trouble connecting and makes a high pitch swuealing noise before connecting. Yesterday it took about 30 minutes to connect after power outage. Today we rearranged and unplugged it for a while. Now it wont connect at all. The light is solid amber except every 8 seconds it turns green for one second then back to amber. The whine is constant.

OK, I talked with support and they told me to return it for replacement.

Tried doing a factory reset but it ignores me. I held the pin in for a minute and no change. I can still login from my pc with the old password and it just says there is a hardware problem, that I should make sure the cable is tight etc. I put another modem (from Comcast) on the line and it connected right away.
