I have Comcast xfinity internet service. I want to upgrade my sb6190 modem to the sb8200 but it is only available in white. Is the cm8200 (which is available in black) compatible and interchangeable with the sb8200. I’ve read some Amazon reviews who said they simply identify their cm8200 as an sb8200 when registering the modem and they have no issues. Will it work and are there any downsides to choosing the cm8200 for use on Comcast/xfinity?

the cm8200 should work fine with comcast. they should be identical hardware with just one being allowed for clients to put their own brand on it.
