G36+Xfinity+2.5Gb

Forum|alt.badge.img

My main problem has been with dropping internet when I use 2.5Gb port. I have 1.2Gb plan with Xfinity. When I use the 2.5Gb port speed tests are testing ~1.4Gb download. However during normal use especially felt when doing online meetings G36 drops the internet frequently for a couple of minutes.

This doesn't happen when I use 1Gb port. Or at least it appears so.

Any ideas?

Is this related to “G34/G36 Intermittent Connectivity On Xfinity Network”?

If G36 is not fully compatible with Xfinity, I will seek for a refund then.

Try checking with different ethernet cables like cat6/cat7 or cat 8.

For the intermittent connection, check the cable signal levels by clicking the below link:

I already have cat8 cables and your recommended signal levels for Xfinity is not applicable. My conclusion is that G36 and Xfinity don’t work well together. Also, Arris help doesn’t help at all in this matter. I got rid of G36 and started using Xfinity rental modem. Now everything is flawless and stable.
