For my xfinity service, I got my new G36 and began the signup process. I got to the part where I was supposed to contact xfinity, which I did. After a long time working on it, the tech got me set up.

Meanwhile, I guess the Arris app had timed out. It seems to only give me the option of a re-install, like after a factory reset, But I don’t want to do that, because I don’t want to go through the painful activation process with Xfinity again. So what’s the best, most efficient thing I can do, to complete my setup?

Factory resetting modem will not affect the activation on G36 after resetting modem it will go to the default setup so you no need to reactivate modem again after resetting so you can uninstall and reinstall app and start the setup once the device connected to modem WIFI network. If still you face any issue on setting up surfboard central app you can login to modem interface using 192.168.0.1 IP on any web browser to access modem settings. or please follow the step a mentioned on the below article to setup modem.
