I just bought an Arris G36 and am running Mac OS Sonoma 14.5 ; the Canon Mx 532 printer asks for me to press the WPS button when searching for the access point.  There is no button and the app does not have any way to go to WPS.  Do I need a new printer?  I don’t want to go backwards in my security or speed.

G36 doesn't have physical button on the modem for WPS, you can setup only by accessing modem GUI or the web interface of your modem. If you have surfboard central app setup through the app you can login to modem GUI and follow the steps mentioned on the below article to setup WPS.
