Question

G34 and an Arris vap2500 access point

Forum|alt.badge.img

Hello all, In November I purchased a new home along with an Arris G34 Modem Router Combo. Setup and activation went fine. I noticed my garage and the opposite end of the house had weak WiFi. I purchased an Arris VAP2500 access point to place there. I ran a network cable to the garage and hooked up the access point. In connected devices in my G34 the access point is listed and says online. My problem is I can’t login to the access point. Even before hooking it up I couldn’t get in. A WiFi search on a laptop and iPhone in the garage list the VAP2500 as a choice but I can’t join. all user names and passwords that came with it and searched online don’t work. My home system password doesn’t work either. Should I trash the VAP2500 and go with something else.

Thanks

I just looked it up on amazon and the description says you also need a wireless receiver. Have you gotten one of those by now? I know this is an old post, I didn’t see any replies. But I would try getting one of those or just wifi extenders. You can just get 1 or packs of 2 or more. I have not had to get those but it might help solve your problem. I know somethings about tech and wifi like this but I am not an expert yet. If you end up getting those, then reset your 2 in 1 modem router so everything can receive the connection. If you still cannot get into your modem/router combo, call your internet provider or the arris company if you have not tried the app yet first.

The G34 isn’t a controller for that AP. I’d return it if its new and get an actual access point
