I just bought a g34 modem. I contacted my internet service provider to activate it and it is activated. The light on the modem is flashing orange. I am trying to connect it with the surfboard app and the app says the light needs to be solid green. The internet via Ethernet cable is working. The WiFi is working. Why is the light on the modem flashing orange and not solid green?

On the G34 the flashing amber light indicates that a firmware download is in progress. We recommend leaving the gateway (modem/router) idle until the update is complete. Once finished, the light will turn solid blue (DOCSIS 3.1) or green (DOCSIS 3.0).
