Does model SGB8300 have a port to support a phone cable connection to connect our landline phone with our home security system? An ethernet cable was included in the box but I’m unsure of what it is used for.

No. the SBG8300 doesn’t have any telephone capability. But you could always get rid of the ISP’s telephone service and sign up for a VOIP based telephone service like Vonage or Ooma
