Needed to upgrade router bought the model listed above. It is a Modem & Wi-fi Router. I believe it can broadcast 2.4 or 5. Since installing my generator and house cameras will not work because it is saying I need to use a 2.4 connection. I have downloaded surfboard and thought I changed it but I can’t get them to connect. Please help a completely in-tech savvy person get my stuff to work. Layman’s terms are appreciated. lol

For your information 2.4 GHz give you Longer range, slower speed whereas the 5ghz Shorter range, faster speed.
Have you changed your network name and password, or combined the networks by any chance?
If not, by default the SBG8300 has two bands: 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz. When setting up your cameras and generator, choose the network name without "5G" at the end. The 5 GHz network name includes "5G," while the 2.4 GHz network name does not.
