SB8200 overheated and dead after 24 hours?

Forum|alt.badge.img

I connected my new modem, then 24 hours later no internet. The modem is hot to the touch and doesn’t light up. Should I just return this thing and get a different brand?

Hello Brian123

If the modem is getting over heated please check for the ventilation and if that started suddenly we would suggest you to disconnect the modem and keep it aside for safety reason. If the modem is recent purchase you can return it to the place of purchase and get a replacement or if that is more than 30days old you can reach out to Arris.com/consumersupport for immediate warranty claim.

If you can, then es, you should.  Look at all the other complaints here about SB8200 failing after a short period of time.
