I just purchased the SB8200. I have activated it with my ISP (Spectrum).  Everything seems to be working on their end. I can’t get it to connect to my gateway eero 6. I have internet when connected directly to the computer from modem, but cannot get the eero to come online

In this case we would suggest you to disconnect the router and computer from the modem and restart or power cycle  the modem for a minute the connect router to the modem after the modem reboots  completely. Connect the router to the port1 on the modem.

This is the situation , even though you have 2 Ethernet ports on the back of the modem , you will be able to connect one device at the time and the reason why its because the modem is getting just 1 valid ip address. If you want to use both ports at the same time you will need to contact your ISP and request a secondary IP Address
