Moved to NY from CA 4 years ago and my brother has fiber broadband through Optimum / Altice. I’m using the SBG6782-AC as an access point but a) it my be causing and IP configuration problem with the fiber modem / router, and b) every time I start my computer I have to unplug and plug the SBG6782-AC to get internet. Anyone have a solution to a) as I can live with b) for now, lol

The SBG6782 doesn’t have an access point mode. So you’ve gotten it working with work arounds (like disabling dhcp, etc) and more than likely that’s whats causing the issue.

Sadly, I don’t think there’s much to do to fix it because its a modem/router combo device. And while it has a modem only mode, it doesn’t have an access point only mode.
