Can I run ethernet cable from router down garden( in ducting) to summer house then plug in x5042 for improved WiFi? Please

- There isn’t any reason you can’t
- not sure what this ducting is but just make sure it doesn’t have issues with the ethernet wire run
- Ethernet’s max distance is 300ft (100m). Just don’t exceed that.
also, make sure to set up the X5042 in access point mode if its hardwired in
Thank you for the answer. Ducting-nothing technical just pipe work either solid, rigid or flexible to protect cable run.
Should be pretty solid then. I’ve connected a remote building that route (not same extender). It works well. If the ducting is underground, I’d make sure to install underground rated ethernet cable. Not much more expensive but worth it.
I will do that. I was not aware of types of cable rating other than Cat number. I cant wait to get started.
Good luck! Its fun modifying things :)
