Through my internet provider, I've got a SURFboard DOCSIS 3.1 Gigabit cable mode & WiFi Router and need to change user name and password.  Tried the 192.168.0.1 web search and got a page with this address:   http://192.168.0.1/login.php.  Looked sketchy.  Thank you for the help!

Hello SarahNP

Regarding the interface access the username and password credentials will varies according to the respective models so you can try using default login credentials that is username: admin and password: password in lower case.

Could you please help with the model number of modem so it will be easy to assist you further .

When you say use default login: admin and password (lower case), do you mean the password on my modem?
I tried that and it didn’t work. at a loss!

Thank you, Susan

When I try to log in at 192.168.0.1. it does not recognize my password. How do I change/ update the password?

Surfboard AX3000 modem.

Surfboard AX3000 modem.

Thank you for replying. For your information the "AX3000" for a router typically refers to its Wi-Fi speed capabilities, specifically the router's total theoretical maximum data transfer rate. For ARRIS AX3000 models like the G20, G34, and G36, during the initial setup, you’ll be prompted to create a password for accessing the web interface. If you’ve set up the Surfboard Central app, it will generate the password automatically for you

To retrieve the password for the web interface through the Surfboard Central app, please can refer to the following link.

If you’ve been using the web interface to configure your Surfboard gateway and happen to forget the password, I would recommend performing a factory reset on the device. This will restore the gateway to its default settings, allowing you to set a new password for the web interface.

I have a G34 Modem. However, your directions were spot on and I finally am able to access the system.

Thank you.
