Hello,

I reset my modem/router (instead of unplugging it) because my ring doorbell was offline and refused to reconnect. It reset to the original name and password. I need the site and steps to create my original wifi name and password, please.

I am replying to my own question because I found a resolution. My Arris modem/router combo warranty expired some months ago so tech support could not help me in depth. They do not extend warranties which made the process more challenging 😤. After calling 4 times and getting the same representative, I asked if 10.0.0.1 was the correct entry to access the portal and it is (I remember this when they helped set me up originally). Google has: 192.168.01, but this portal never opened for me.

Once you're in the Arris Surfboard screen, you'll need credentials. Username: admin; Password: (check the side or underneath your modem/router - mine is 12 digits alphanumeric. Without credentials, I could not gain access. Once you're logged in, all your devices will be listed. On the left, under Gateway, select Connection and then WiFi. You will see your current Wifi name(s) and password(s). Make your edits here and click Save Settings below. When you search for Wifi and find yours, just add the new WiFi passwords to your devices and you're good to go. I hope this helps someone. I learned something new today and can say I am a little more tech savvy from it 😊
