Router suddenly not reconizing MAC number of tablet

A tablet purchased a couple of months ago would not connect to the Aris Router reliably until I reserved an IP for it.  Since then I have twice had to change the reserved IP to  get it to connect because the Router sees the MAC address of the tablet as an unknown despite the fact that it corresponds to the reserved IP address.  Can anybody make snes of this?

@James LM It would also be good to know  the model and FW of your router that is having this issue.  If the tablet is unable to maintain wireless connection with the router, IP reservation wouldn’t help.  It may take time for router to recognize the device name.

Is the tablet an iOS device? If so, disable private mac/ip address feature on it. Also disable icloud relay
