I am using  an Arris (Motorolla) Surfboard SBG6700-AC  Cable Modem with Xfinity (Comcast) Wired Ethernet Connection on an HP 8300 All-In-One PC .  I am using Ubuntu Linux Version 20.04 LTS.  My problem is I that I am unable to log into the Modem (192.168.0.1) with the Default user name and password combination(s),  (User Name: “admin”  Password: “password”) or the Alternate Combination of (User Name: “admin”   Password: Wi-Fi Security Key on Label on Bottom of Cable Modem).

I am attempting to Reset the Wi-Fi Credentials on this Cable Modem so as to enable Wi-Fi Access to my other computer(s) and to my Android Cell Phone.

In addition, my attempt to Complete a Factory Reset on this Arris Cable Modem was unsuccessful.

Any Help or Guidance is greatly appreciated.

Regards,

imgeek

The reset was unsuccessful?

Did you hold it long enough while powered on? Hold it for up to 15 seconds.

And the default password can also be the last 8 of the serial number. might try that after the reset
