My PC does not show network as available.

Have:

  1. Done multiple resets modem/router
  2. Powered off PC
  3. Manually set up G36 name and SSID
  4. ipconfig
  5. Updated drivers
  6. Uninstalled/reinstalled drivers
  7. 7) Set up wifi hotspot with iphone-which connects no problem
  8. Set up ethernet directly to PC which works no problem

It simply does not recognize the DEVICE FOR WIFI

Is you HP630 device was getting internet through modem WIFI before? If yes, please try performing network reset on the device to get connected to your modem WIFI network back.

After your PC restarts, any network adapters are reinstalled, and the settings for them are set to the defaults.

  1. Select Start > Settings > Network & internet > Advanced network settings > Network reset. Open Network & Internet Status settings.
  2. On the Network reset screen, select Reset now > Yes to confirm.

Thank you but that did not work.  The PC is able to pick up multiple OTHER Wifi networks including iphones as a hot spot.  It simply will not DETECT the G36.  I even manually installed the SSID and it still does not detect it.

Since the PC is not broadcasting with Wi-Fi network name of G36, I suggest you to change the security mode.

To change the security mode, please follow the steps given below:

Login to GUI portal> 192.168.0.1>Gateway>Summary>Connection>Wi-Fi>Networks> Edit

After selecting edit, change the security mode as WPAWPA2-PSK (TKIP/AES).

Once the changes saved, restart your PC and check whether you can locate the Wi-Fi network name and connect it with your Wi-Fi password.

Thank you and yes I did attempt that process to no avail along with:

I also did a full wifi spectrum analysis/hard selected channels for both 2.4 and 5 G and rebooted/restarted-no joy.

Lastly did hard connect of MAC filtering/selecting MAC addresses and trying conx WPA2-PSK (AES) and still no joy.

The HP630 device simply will not recognize the G36.

It recognizes every other device within shouting distance just not the G36.

Again thank you very much for your help but I think im at the end point.

For now the Wifi hotspot will be fine for internet connection.

And Santa Claus is looking for a new laptop (this one needs a well deserved retirement)…

That card is notorious for not working with AX and realtek did a poor (not at all) job of updating it.

Instead of throwing the device away through, you could snag a cheap usb adapter or replace the wifi adapter. I’ve replaced a few with good success

Sounds good Thanks

Hope it works well!

Looks like the wifi card is easily accessible and could be upgrade.
