G34 | G36

I’ve already factory reset the 🤬 thing twice. Bought it brand new on Friday. I’ve been trying to set it up and the “Surfboard App” on my phone is ridiculous. I’ve got it somewhat up and running - it’s what I’m using to post this query. But… The “app” on my Android phone keeps disconnecting from the network. Despite the fact it says it’s connected to the network. Switching between screens on the app takes a literal minute - 60 seconds. The “parental controls” aren’t controlling a thing. Currently this desktop is supposed to be “paused” from accessing the internet. I did rename the Wi-Fi gateways and the passwords, but everything says its connected to the new networks. Seriously, how is this computer connected? WHY is this computer connected when it’s supposed to be paused? I’m about to return it and look for a different brand, unless someone can help. The links on this support site don’t work and the two surfboard apps don’t work. I successfully factory reset. But cannot access through either app or web interface because it will not accept any credentials. I don’t even know the default credentials. how do I contact someone to guide me today. Everything on this site leads to a dead end and no solution.

My modem has a blue solid light but no internet on my laptop as im plugged in with a wire to modem

Optimum is my provider and have been doing the zoom meeting for years, The problem started with a new G34 wifi modem. While in Zoom meeting either the guests or me , the host, freeze, the internet connectioin is unstable message appears and zoom reboots and I have to unmute. Never had this problem until I got a new G34. Gene had a similar problem with a G33 and ultimately found it was the modem. Is it the new G34??? If so Im very disappointed. My previous Modem was an Arris SBG7600AC2 where all the ethernet connections quit working. I followedd all troubleshooting recommendations of power cycle, disconnect cable and hard rest. Being out of warranty I bought a new G34 and now a Zoom problem. Please help

I have never been able to access the admin portal through the Surfboard Central app. I tried doing it over my desktop today and performed a factory reset on the G36. Once it booted, I accessed it on Chrome (also tried Edge) and did the Network Wizard steps. Immediately after finishing setup, I tried logging in and it gives me the Invalid Login Credentials error. I cleared the cache and tried different browsers. Same thing. What gives?

My Internet was working fine but it was time to upgrade old Xfinity equipment. I purchased the G36 and it drops wifi off an on all day. Unfortunately it's been more than 30 days so I cannot return to Amazon. Xfinity says the g36 has major issues with their system and don't recommend it. How can I warranty this product that doesn't work? Will a new g36 work or do I need a different model?? I've spent hours on the phone/chat line and am very frustrated. Where do I go from here?

Arris G36 Upgraded to windows 11. Now password not accepted. multiple machines. win11 and linux OSs No happy happy what changed?

I dont have a coaxil connection,internet has a ethernet end on it.so is this a router also or just a modem

I have been trying to work on my Gateway but have had nothing but problems as I cannot open multiple tabs in my browser to go between things and the website keeps logging me out! I’ll be in the middle of something and it will tell me I need to login again! Is there some setting I need to adjust for this because it is aggravating beyond words that it is taking longer than necessary to get this done 😡

Using Microsoft Edge for the G34 GUI, the response became very slow, sometimes several minutes for GUI clicks such as Statis Addresses. At one point a try to set a static address, or something else I must have done, left two static address list entries IP 0.0.0.0 MAC 00.00.00.00.00.00. Call that a 0s entry. I switched to my preferred Firefox and the speed became normal again, but trying to [x] delete them made it worse. I now have 8, 0s entries that can’t be deleted, all in one contiguous group. As far as I can tell, any static address I create following those are never realized. Since I had 72 S.A.’s before this mess I sure hope I don’t have to factory reset the G34 and start over -- more than an hour of typing and waiting for the G34 to respond. I had an indication from Arris phone support this is a G34 bug but I stupidly phoned with my battery running out so my phone powered down and he couldn’t even call me back. Is it officially a bug? I cannot log into the admin interface, even after performing a reset. Several months ago, I lost connection to my wifi suddenly. It wasn’t an issue with my provider. I realized that my wifi name was showing up as the factory name, not the name I’d given it. I discovered I could use the factory default password and I was able to connect all my devices using that, but since then I haven’t been able to log into the admin interface. I’d like to change my network name and password. I tried doing a reset to see if that would allow me to use the default login credential and it still won’t work. What can I do to get into the admin interface to change the password and network name?

I am STILL trying to get an answer to this and DO NOT send me to the chat as it “Currently Unavailable” I tried both my Macbook and my iPhone How do I register my Arris G34?!?!?!? I want a helpful answer. I paid for this I should be able to register it for the warranty or I will file a complaint with the appropriate govt agencies.

The Surfboard Central app has recommendation for network health. It indicatess some devices are connected with a low signal strength. Some listed devices are hardwired via ethernet cable. How can they havee a low signal strehgth??

My G34 gateway was rebooting a few times per week. Arris replaced the G34 and the problem persisted. I was also getting pixelation on my TV screen. Comcast detected a problem with my line and sent out a tech. The tech also saw some unusual errors on my line. The tech installed a MOCA filter on the coax line coming into my house. Since the filter was installed my Gateway has been stable for over 3 weeks and the TV picture is better. If you are having problems with your Arris gateway rebooting randomly then I suggest you get a MOCA filter installed.

I have a G36 Modem/Router. About a month or so ago, the front light on it went out. I still have access to WIFI. Should I be concerned? I also have 3 decco 6e mesh units inline. Thank you, Brian

I just bought my G34 off of Amazon. Got it set up and opened the website to establish my network. It took me to registration and then said its already registered? 🤔 and the 800# that the page gave to call for support then hangs up on me! 😠 Not a good way to start a relationship when I just decided to move to your company after Netgear send EOL notice for my last modem/router. So how do I get my purchase registered? ❓

How do I go about changing the network name and password on my new G34? I’m connected and have logged in to the site, but don’t see where to make those changes?

My G34 GUI device list shows many devices which Windows 10 nmap shows are currently down, and at least one currently nmap up device doesn’t show. How does the G34 assemble its device list? Can I improve it?

This is from my Surfboard Central App (Edited personal information) I entered the exact credentials as shown in the WEBGUI Login Credentials image. And this is my my Web Portal's response. I'm useing Win 11 and Chrome, but I also tried M.S. Edge and got the same response. So What do I do now. P.S. I hate using phone apps. The print is too small and it's too easy to fat finger the keys.

The WPA3 security setting is incompatible with my Sleep Number bed, making it impossible to establish a wifi connection. I try to log in to 192.168.0.1 so I can change it to WPA2, and it tries to redirect to a secure site but then fails. Does anyone know how to get around this?

I had asked about a problem with the site certificate was insecure. “we could not verify the certificate: reason = untrusted” So I final went back to look at my problem. Solution was in Internet options, trusted sites “Require server verification (https:) for all sites” box unchecked and problem solved. I love MS’s buried controls (not).

I have an Arris G34 modem. The problem is that I have some Cinnado security cameras that only connect to a 2.4 GHz network. I received three cameras, but I’ve only been able to connect one. I’ve already tried all the possible methods, but the other two won’t connect. I also verified that the cameras are working fine — I used my phone as a hotspot, and they connected there without any problem. So the issue seems to be with my modem’s connection.

We've had the G34 for about four days. We upgraded to this one because it's not too expensive but it does have parental controls. I was able to label devices and set up a few profiles, but now all it does most of the time is load. Every once in a while it lets me toggle the buttons to pause the Internet but it won't pause Internet to anything in the house. The app seems so useless. I wish there was a website where I could use the parental controls. Are we missing something on the app? I've force stopped it. I cleared the cache. I uninstalled it and reinstalled it. Nothing has worked.
