I am having the same problem with the G54 Modem/router and Xfinity.  The modem is active, and I am able to use devices and stream while connected to it, but on Xfinity’s end, it appears offline. I also can’t complete the instillation process in the Surfboard app and without these two steps I can’t test speed and know if my large investment is really worth it.

Do you see modem is online on Xfinity app?


The Xfinity app is showing the G54 modem as my modem, but that it’s offline.  However, it’s working great.  I talked with surfboard support and they talked me through the factory reboot and I am able to see speeds and all details on the surfboard app now. Maybe I just ignore that Xfinity isn’t registering the modem?

As you had mentioned G54 is working great that’s good to know.

 Regarding the Xfinity App, it shows the modem is Offline so here you need to contact and check with you’re ISP Xfinity on the same

Xfinity had issues registering my G54 as well. It took a few attempts and back/forth with them. I wouldn’t trust them that much. 

If everythings working, i wouldn’t worry about it to much
