When setting up the Max mesh W121/w21 to a Wifi router, does the router essentially a plain router?

I have a SBG10 that I wanted to hook up to the mesh system so that I can have wifi coverage at 3 points in my house. But I guess I can’t do that, or I just haven’t figured it out?

Can any of the arris wifi routers function as its own “node” for the mesh system?

Thanks!

Hi Jserrano171

Basically you are trying to connect Max meshW121/W21 to a Gateway SBG10 . In order to access WiFi  internet we need to convert SBG10 to bridge mode which is a modem phase .

After converting SBG10 to a modem now, we can connect it to the main router and access the WiFi , later the satellite.

For setup  W121/W21, please follow the link below :

@Jserrano171  The ARRIS mesh routers cannot not function as nodes or access points (AP).  You cannot add ARRIS routers to an existing mesh network.

As mentioned by the @SURFboard Moderator, you’ll have to setup SBG10 in a bridge mode to function as a modem only and use your W121 units as the primary Wi-Fi router.
