Question

G34 resets 5G PW randomly

Forum|alt.badge.img

Recently did a fac reset on G34. Created 2.4 and 5G SSIDs with new pw’s

Twice now, in the middle of the day, the 5G band’s pw is changed to a completely new and numeric one. The 2.4 band is the same as  when I changed it.

Does only the 5GHz network revert to the default password? Also, how long did you hold the factory reset button when performing the reset?

If you’ve previously changed your Wi-Fi credentials using either the Surfboard Central app or the web-based interface (GUI), we recommend logging back into the GUI and updating the network credentials again.

Once the changes are made, navigate to Troubleshooting > Restart/Restore in the GUI, and select Restart Wi-Fi and Router to apply the updates properly.

Just happened again. Watching television on roku. 5g band is out, switched over to 2.4 band...connected no problem.

Checked router...5g is default pw again, 2.4 is my custom pw still. No interruption in ethernet connections

**Followed all the instructions in last post

5g reverted to default pw again

Since you did a hard reset, try doing a soft reset in the interface page. Navigate to Troubleshooting > Restart/Restore in the GUI, and select 'Restore gateway defaults.'

After that, try changing the credentials again. If your customized password for the 5GHz band still gets reset, please reach out to us through our support channels at www.arris.com/consumersupport.
