LED is solid green and does not extinguish. What does this indicate?

Do you mean X5042? 

According to the manual its supposed to shut off after 10 minutes. 

Not sure why yours isn’t. But it should indicate its in a good position. 

Are you having issues with it? 

Current setup: Netgear CM3000-->Netgear RBE973S-->2.5gig tp-link switch, Xfinity 2.4gig/350mbps

Appears to be working fine.  It's just that the light remains on all of the time.
