Question

2.5g lights not working on S33

Forum|alt.badge.img+1

I am linked with my eero pro 6e router through the 2.5g port but there are no link lights. I also noticed when I boot the modem there are no lights on the 2.5g port but the 1g port has lights. Any thoughts?

what device do you have?

Is it working?

Did you try a different cable?

I have an S33 and a eero pro 6e. Yes they are working. I have tried other ables. If I connect it to the 1g port on my eero I get a yellow light as I  should but no green light on 2.5g port. I guess it's possible the green light could be bad?

An amber LED light on the 1GB Ethernet port indicates a data transfer rate of less than 1Gbps, while a green light means the connection is running at 1Gbps.

Similarly, an amber LED light on the 2.5GB Ethernet port indicates a data transfer rate of less than 2.5Gbps, while a green light means it's running at 2.5Gbps.

Are you experiencing a slow or intermittent internet connection?

Could you let us know the speed plan you opted with ISP?

I'm on Xfinity 1100mbps plan. My connection seems to be working I'm getting about 1200mbps downloads and about 41 mbps uploads. It doesn't seem to be slow or intermittent. If I connect my patch cable between the 2.5 gb port on my modem and router I get no lights of any color on my modem and my router doesn't have any lights to check it's an eero. If I put the cable in the 1gb port on my modem and 2.5gb port on my router I get a flashing green light. If I put the cable in the 1gb port on my modem and 1gb port on my router I get the same flashing green light. If I put the cable in the 2.5gb port on my modem and 1gb port on my router I get a flashing yellow light. From what you said it seems to be working correctly except I no light connected from 2.5gb to 2.5gb. I did notice from a fresh boot with no cables plugged in I get the yellow and green lights flash on the 1gb port but no lights flash on the 2.5gb port.

Just to clarify, when you connect the 2.5G port of the S33 to the 2.5G port on your router, there are no lights on either side. However, if you connect the 2.5G port on the S33 to the 1GB port on your router, the LED lights do flash. Is that correct?

Turn off both the S33 and the router. While they are turned off, connect the 2.5G port from the S33 to the WAN port on the router (which I presume is also a 2.5G port).

After connecting the Ethernet cable, turn on only the modem and wait for it to boot up. Once it has booted up, turn on the router and check if the lights flash on the Ethernet port.

Note: Ensure that the S33 is plugged into the WAN port of your router, as this is when the modem will provide a connection.

Yes what you said is correct. I tried up you said. When the modem booted I got a yellow and a green flash from the 1g port but nothing from the 2.5g. After booting the router still nothing. When I boot the modem with no cables I get the same thing, yellow and green on 1g port nothing on 2.5g. It appears there is a problem with the lights on the 2.5g port? Port does work just no lights.

I understand that the 2.5G port is working, but there is no light. This is normal behavior as long as the port is functioning properly.

You can try power cycling the modem, and if the issue persists and it concerns you, a factory reset may be worth considering.

Since the port is operating correctly, there are no issues with the modem itself. However, if you have any concerns, you can visit www.arris.com/consumersupport for further assistance.

Thanks. I have tried power cycling and a factory reset. I will just use it the way it is, I don’t need a light. I just wanted to confirm it should be on.
