I bought my S33 in July 2023. A few weeks ago (Jan 2025) my S33 began making a noticeable buzzing/squeaking sound, which seems to have gotten louder. Hard to notice with TV on (right next to it) but in a quiet room its ultra annoying. Connectivity didn't seem to be affected though. To try to fix the noise I tried briefly unplugging it and plugging it back in. That didn't help. So, I tried to unplug it and let it sit for a bit, when I plugged it back in it gave me a white status light and makes a constant rhythmic buzz squeak now, no internet connection. Left it that way for several minutes and status/connection did not change. What's going on here?

Could you please try connecting the modem to a different power outlet? Additionally, I would recommend trying a different power adapter if possible.


I don't have another factory adapter, different outlet made no difference.


Its been plugged back for 2 hrs, still no connectivity, light is white still (DK if that supposed to be amber?).

 

Listening to it carefully it sounds like something inside is trying to actuate but isn't turning over.

 

It's worth noting that the top of it had gotten noticeably hot, conciding with the squeaking chirping noises.


Probably time to contact support to see if you’re still in warranty. 

Anytime anythings getting significantly hot, I’d recommend unplugging it to prevent fire.
