S33 was working fine connected to Xfinity.  There was a storm in the area with lightning.

The S33 is plugged into a Tripp Lite surge protector the coax is plugged into the surge protector as well as grounded on the side of house.   Router is still functioning just doesn’t see the Modem.  

Xfinity app shows no outage but troubleshooting it says it can not connect to the modem.

The S33 blinks green even after factory reset.

Lightening is great at wrecking things. Even surge protectors don’t really do that great a job. If you google surge protectors/lightening, you’ll find a bunch of research on how they don’t work that great. 

What you can try doing is disconnect the coax from the modem and factory reset it. Then see if your ISP can re-provision it after you reconnect the coax. Sometimes if the issues is something corrupt (and not hardware failure) a re-provision can overwrite the bad sector and get it working. 

Factory reset worked for about two minutes then it went back to green and offline.  Can not reprovision if offline.  Tried an old modem I had once provisioned it works fine and am up and running.  

Might have been lightening winning that round.
