SURFboard SB6183 has blue lights that shine out the side. How can these be disabled? I’m willing to cut some wires.

Instead of cutting some wires, how about some simple black electric tape over them? Then they’re still available if you need them for troubleshooting and you don’t have to worry about voiding warranties or breaking something.
Thanks, I've done that. The problem is the light coming out the side through the air holes.
If you were really ambitious, some black nail polish on the led’s when you open it up.
But I wouldn’t do any wire cutting/desoldering.
You can turn off the LED. Give this a try.
