Frustrated is not the word!  SB6183 Arris should have more customer support than this.  

 

Signal won’t hold-  drops internet connect every 5-6 seconds and reconnects every 10 seconds.

 

New place, new internet connection, new company.  Signal good from pole to house.  All wires have been checked multiple times, power cycled many times, still happening.  

 

You say new place/internet. Is the SB6183 new? 

Or is it from the old place? 
If its from the old place, did it work fine there? 

 


The unit was purchased in 2018.  It worked in the old place just fine and confirmed band width at the new place, but it was in storage for 6 months in between old and new place. Still, this shouldn’t have hurt it ?  Left old place August 2023; just now tried to use it again. 


It shouldn’t have (unless it got damaged in the move). I’d be more suspicious of the line. I know you said it was good. Got a screensnip of the cable connections page and event logs? 

That’d be key to checking the line. 

also the SB6183 isn’t the highest end modem and is only 16x4 for its links. without redundant channels, this can cause small issues to be worse.
