cox <------> modem <------> router <----→ CPU

The modem/router/cpu seems to work. I checked it by logging onto 192.198.100.1.
The cox/modem connection does not seem to work. I can’t communicate to the WWW.
The modem was purchased and delivered on 8 Mar. This is my first attempt to use it. Any idea what I need to look at or do to fix the issue?
Another thing. I looked at the log file after I logged into the modem. The log file has about 74 entries, starting in 3/2023. Is this a new modem?
