I have bought a new modem SB8200 and router Tp Link Archer AXE75 for few months.

On Saturday October 26, 2024, my wifi stopped connecting to Internet. I followed this site instructions https://www.tp-link.com/us/support/faq/1556/. I removed the power cable and coaxial cable from SB8200 modem, then waited for 1 minutes. I turned on the SB8200 modem and waited to for it to startup. After it booted up, I plugged in the coaxial cable and my wifi stopped giving “connected without internet” and everything was fine.

But this happened on Sunday the next day, I redid the steps on I took on Saturday.

And today, on Monday, I just unplugged the power cable from SB8200 modem and the wifi started working.

I think my router is working fine because I don't have to restart it.

But I really don't know which of the two, modem or router, is at fault.

I hope to get some help to pinpoint the cause and fix this problem. Thank you for time.

You check the LED on the SB8200 and the TP Link router to determine who is off line when you loose Internet.  If the SB8200 LED is blinking, it’s not offline. If they are solid, it has Internet.

I would make sure the SB8200 is compatible with your Internet speed plan.  It can cause stability issue if it is not compatible.

I reset all settings on my router and now I don't see loss of internet anymore.

One thing I always remind people of (and might not be an issue with you) is the while the SB8200 has 2x ethernet ports, that majority of ISP’s only support 1 connected device because they only assign a single public ip address. So if you have more than 1 device directly connected to the sb8200, disconnect them and only have the router directly connected to it.
