Hey guys. I bought this modem in Nov2019 off Amazon. It’s been sitting in storage, new in the packaging ever since, while I went through the longest divorce in history.

House is sold, new life beginning, and I ordered up new service with Comcast, at the new place. Tried to hook up my own modem with their support, and opened the Arris box, gave them my MAC ID and SN and they are telling me both of those are already in use.

Tech said sometimes the manufacturer will rent inactive numbers out, and to ask for a release or replacement.

 

I couldn’t find a call number to reach Arris. Where do I begin?

Arias tech in India told me my warranty is up, the MAC address is expired, so pay for their warranty service or buy a new one. I just opened the thing. Last time I get an Arrias.

 

Comcast India support was no more helpful but managed to get myself talking to a US tech and he was able to undo all the “well intentioned” efforts of the less knowledgeable techs, and get it working. Took 4 hours in total.

 

Well, issue is resolved.
