Have had my SB8200 connected to xFinity cable service for over a year with no issues.  2 days ago we experienced a 4 hour xFinity outage, after which my PC is the only device that the modem will connect to the internet with. My mesh WiFi system won’t connect to the internet, nor any other ethernet devices such as my Apple TV.

I have rebooted the modem several times and eventually did a factory reset and registered it again with xFinity.  Speedtest on my PC gives me 590 mps download, paying for 500.  The problem persists. Does anyone have an idea of why my PC is the only device it will connect to the internet with?  Any suggestions on correcting this issue?  Much appreciated.

Xfinity only assigns a single public ip address per device/modem. So while the sb8200 has more than 1 ethernet connection, only 1 device can be connected to it at a time and work. And if that address is being assigned to your pc, the router/mesh system won’t work.

So disconnect the pc from the modem, power it off (the modem and router) for 5-10 minutes, then power the modem on and give it a couple minutes to fully boot. Then connect the router/mesh system to port 1 and power the router on. Go through its internet connection setup process. It should work fine then.

Just keep in mind, on xfinity, you can only have 1 device connected to the sb8200.
