First, yes, I did scan the questions and I did see a similar one answered, but I have questions from that.

Previously I had the SB6190 and just upgraded to the SB8200 to get the DOCIS 3.1 plus the GB ethernet ports.

Linksys Atlas Pro 6 Mesh Router worked fine with the SB6190 and I could easily access the modem page if needed without using a “direct” connection. In other words I could from my wired computer access the 192.168.100.1 page address in the browser on the computer.

Now I can’t.

Same router, same computer, same browser with new SB58200. Just won’t connect. I changed nothing on the router settings, so it really makes no sense the router is involved in blocking the access.

Note well: I am not wanting to change anything. But occasionally I look at the logs just to see if there is anything “off”.

I am NOT trying to access via WiFi, or wirelessly.

Short of moving my computer to the proximity of the SB8200 how can I open the access via my Linksys router to access the modem’s web page?

Also, disappointed DOCIS 3.1 not activated in setup. I was later told it is an Xfinity thing, agreement, that they have to “turn it on”. I guess I will have to deal with them as that “issues” made the set up a lot longer than necessary (take this as the Xfinity tech person wasn’t aware of said agreement).

Hello rickkp

Sb6190 and SB8200 are just the able modem so we have seen many cases like yours, its because of the router that blocks the modem IP to access so that is the reason we always suggest the customers to access interface on direct connection to the modem without router, that will help you to access interface without any interference.

Let us know if this helps.

Sorry, already stated moving a desktop to be close enough to directly plug in is not doable.

So I am looking for a way through the router.

And BTW, I was able to directly access the SB6190 old version I had through my network, so I do suspect that there is a way.

Hello rickkp,

It looks like you are unable to access the modem web manager page through wired and wireless .

For wired , connect modem  directly with the wired device say a laptop or computer if you are not able to access the web manager page check are you using both the ethernet ports to access the router and laptop or computer if you’re accessing both the devices then we need to use only the router port not both the ports together , also try with different ethernet cables.

For wireless, check with different WiFi devices and browsers

Hope this information helps.
