I have a SBG7600AC2 modem that I bought a couple of months ago. I am having an issue where the 2.4 GHz WiFi ONLY will stop providing internet to those devices that are connected to it, such as Alexa, the Blink cam, and the Ring cams.

The wired internet works just fine during this time, and the 5 GHz WiFi also works just fine during this time.

In order to reset it, I have to go to 192.168.0.1, turn off the 2.4 GHz in the Surfboard menu, turn it back on, and everything connects again within a few seconds.

A day or two later, it will do it again. I’ve played with many of the settings in the menu without any change. I don’t believe it is interference because the devices will stop being connected and won’t reconnect without my doing the reset. Even after hours, it will not reconnect on it’s own. All devices go off-line at the same time. Any suggestions?

Try connecting Blink cam and Ring cams to 5 GHz if possible to take away some loads off the 2.4 GHz.

You can also try changing the security mode on 2.4Ghz by login the GUI web portal.

Launch a web browser and enter the IP address in the address box which is 192.168.0.1

Login in with your credentials.

Once you logged in, Select Gateway>Summary>Connection>Wi-Fi>Networks>Edit.

Change the security mode as WPAWPA2-PSK (TKIP/AES)
