guest accounts not being presented on SBG6950AC2

I set up both 2G and 5G guest accounts on my SBG6950AC2 modem/router. However they are not  shown/offered as Wi-Fi options. How do I get them to be made available?

SB6190 - Modem is getting warmer

I recently purchased an SB6190 and it seems to be working fine but I’m a little concerned about how warm it gets. If I aim an infrared thermometer at the top I get a reading of 103 - 106 degrees and roughly 85 degrees on either side. If I place my hand on the top it’s quite warm but not what I’d describe as hot though definitely warmer than any modem I’ve owned in the past. Is this normal for these units ? Thanks in advance for any help/advice.

New G34 - can no longer connect to windows DLNA media server on TVs

My old Arris surfboard router/modem combo died and so I replaced it with the G34.  With my old Arris surfboard I had my laptop setup with the windows DLNA media to share media files with my Samsung TV's in my house.  Worked almost flawless in discovering the DLNA and playing videos.  I activated my G34 via Xfinity and it’s been almost nothing but problems I've had to work through.  I can connect to the internet and have eventually connected to smart lights and other discoverable items but the biggest issue is that my TV's no longer find the DLNA server to stream videos to my TV.  It has to be a setting on the G34 somewhere but I don’t know what to change.  Does it have something to do with IpV6 vs IpV4 or the UPnP?  My firewall is off and everything is set up correctly on my laptop to share files.

Issues with wired backhaul on W21

I just purchased a new W21, I now have 3 W21 units in my mesh network. I am trying to confirm if the wired backhaul I setup to one of the units is working. But I cannot find anywhere in the app where I can check this setup.I am using version 4.3.3 of the app on my I phone. Is there anyone that can help me confirm the wired backhaul is working?

How to reinstall the app on W21

I have an established WiFi network at my house.  There are usually 20-25 devices logged on.  The network uses an ARRIS W21 with a W21 extender.  It has worked great for 2-3 years.  I have computers, cell phones, gaming systems, security cameras all successfully working.  I wanted to add a 2.4GHz (only) device and so i wanted to log into my router to momentarily disable the 5.6GHz band.  My Surfboard Central app was uninstalled from my cell phone, so i downloaded it and ran it but it hangs because the SC app can’t find the router.  I disconnected all the wired devices (not the cable modem LAN connection) and it won’t connect no matter what i do.  The error on my cell phone is: ‘Couldn’t find your mAX router.  We are not able to find your mAX Router nearby.’  Well, i’m standing next to it with WiFi enabled on my phone….NOTHING.  I’ve spent hours on this.  Please help me re-establish the Surfboard Central app so i can manage the router that is otherwise successfully working great.  Thank

W21(Dual pack)Can’t Get Ahold of Customer Support!!!

2 of my 3 W21 Sattelites suddenly stopped working. I called Arris a week ago they gave me a Case# and told me they would ship replacements out immediately. Received zero update, I’ve been trying to call ARRIS customer support but instantly get hung up on. And yes I have the correct number. I got it from this website. I go to check my warranty through the website and it won’t even let me input my serial number to issue a claim here. I go to check my case number and I just get a error loading page. Arris has basically made it impossible to contact them, get an update. I’m not sure if they care about their reputation or keeping customers but it’s looking like they don’t. Very disappointed. I’m hoping Arris will reach out to me to get this issue resolved.

g36 keeps losing internet still has solid blue light

I have a G36 I bought a little over two years ago that I use with Comcast.  I haven't had any issues with the modem.  The last 2 months I keep losing internet connection but still have the solid blue light. Only way to get internet back is to unplug and plug the power to the modem. This is getting ridiculous because there are some days I have to do this 5-6 times especially with my wife working from home. Anyone else having this issue. I hope I don’t have to replace this modem already.

Arris G34 dropping internet, but remains connected to network (wired and wifi)

My Arris G34 has developed a problem where every 20 minutes or so I will no longer have internet access but the modem is still connected to the network. I am able to log into my ISP’s website using my cellphone’s mobile data to initiate a reboot of the device and after several minutes I will regain my internet connection. This problem is simultaneously occurring on both my PC which has a wired connection and phone which is connected through Wi-Fi. Looking at other similar posts, I see where it was recommended that I check the cable signal levels 3 times and provide information about my plan through my ISP. I am attaching all relevant information. Arris TG1682 Modem/Router wont reset password after factory resetting

So I factory reset the router last night. Now the default password and user will not work that I found on the bottom of the router. Ive factory reset multiple times and still nothing. Tired doing the 30-30-30 method and I’ve even used the preshared key and still saying incorrect user or password.

Cannot sign in to gateway anymore

when i logged in before, it wanted the default “admin/password” combo. but now:1: it redirects to a screen saying “please log in first”2: it now wants an email that i used to set up the device. i was never prompted to make an email, so i have no email to use, save for the one i just made for this community post. (tried it any way, obviously didnt work)[[correction. i have an email, but no password and don’t know where to recover it. the app says a reset is needed, but then why the email?]]i would reset it, but simple resets tend to break things with me (i.e. im on my 6th re-install of windows) and would rather have that be a last resort.the android app does not connect either, whether by scanning the QR code, or wifi info, etc. i even turned off my VPN to be sure, and my desktop has an ethernet connection where i also turned off my VPNside question: is there a desktop app for the G34? i had a similar problem with an old netgear 2-in-1 i used to use and their Genie app just simplified e

Arris SBV3202 stutter before dial tone

For a newly installed SBV3202 with Comcast, everything is working great for both internet and voice but there’s one remaining irritating problem: regardless of Comcast voicemail status I get a stutter tone before every dial tone. Comcast tech came out and we could not clear it, including communicating with the central office who reprovisioned the modem, reset all features on the headend switch, and we of course power cycled the modem. We also tried it with the battery installed and without.More details: Battery LED is always off, I get reasonable text on the modem’s CM State page of “No Status Reported” and with the battery in it shows a Battery Serial Number and Part Number. The SBV3202 manual says on p. 21, “The SBV3202 will transmit a two-second stutter tone when the battery level is low.” But I don’t think it’s low (Batt LED off, modem works fine when I pull the plug). Again, I tested this both with battery IN and OUT.Has anybody else experienced this, or any more ideas? It’s not a

New G34 Quits First Day

Just hooked up my new G34, connected to the internet and it worked perfect….for about 6 hours, then shut down. I unplugged it and waited about 5 minutes, plugged it back in. Nothing. Unplugged again and waited 10 minutes, meanwhile called my service provider to see if there was an outage in the area. No. Plugged back in and red light, then flashing lights, then flashing blue light, then blue light and I was connected. Now I’m not impressed if it only lasts 6 hours and has to be rebooted. I need it replaced as I work from home and getting dropped while logged into my team is not a good thing. Downtime costs me money. I’m thinking of buying something else and returning. It didn’t even come with a manual, so I have no idea what all the lights meant! so frustrated.  Suggestions or ideas are welcome...please?
